Dr Tanveer Khan is Head of Transformation Facility at the Plant Biology Institute at EIT. She is building a state-of-the-art plant transformation platform to remove a key bottleneck in crop innovation, enabling scalable editing and trait delivery.
With more than twenty years of global experience across the United Kingdom, Brazil, Singapore, and USA, she has delivered several technological innovations for AgTech. Her experience spans transformation of complex plant species, CRISPR based platforms, artificial seed technologies, controlled environment agriculture (CEA), application of AI & machine learning models for cell and plant growth. She has held roles at DuPont Pioneer, CTC, Tropic Biosciences, and Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS), and has led multidisciplinary teams to deliver commercially validated products across diverse crops. She combines scientific depth with strategic leadership, enabling collaborations that connect academic research & industry.
She holds a PhD in Plant Physiology, from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, and an Executive MBA from Norwich Business School at the University of East Anglia. She is passionate about developing novel solutions to address global challenges like climate change and food security using multidisciplinary advanced scientific technologies.
