Yujia is a Senior Group Leader in the Materials & Devices for Life Sciences program at EIT. She is also Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford. Yujia leads a multidisciplinary research group advancing nanopore technologies for single-molecule chemistry and biomolecular analysis. Her laboratory integrates chemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics to develop tools that unlock new opportunities in molecular diagnostics, synthetic biology, and beyond.

At EIT, Yujia focuses on innovating next-generation sensing systems to address unmet technological needs, while also translating proof‑of‑concept nanopore platforms into deployable devices. By bridging the gap between complex samples and actionable readouts, her work seeks to realise the versatile potential of nanopore technologies. These efforts aim to deliver end‑to‑end solutions that drive innovation in both basic science and biomedicine.
