The PBI team aims to improve global food production and biosphere health through advances in plant science research. Our work integrates cutting-edge technologies spanning AI and synthetic biology with advanced genome editing to develop climate resilient plants. The goal is to produce more food from less land using fewer resources, such as nitrogen fertilisers. By combining fundamental research with applied innovation, we can accelerate the translation of discoveries into scalable agricultural solutions. In doing so, we lay the foundation for a more resilient and regenerative agricultural future that benefits both people and the planet.

"I'm very excited about EIT because of this vision of attacking the problems end-to-end, starting from research to building a pipeline all the way to a product, to the way to deliver that product. It's a very unique vision and opportunity to be part of this whole cycle of delivery and impact. At EIT, AI researchers work hand-in-hand with domain scientists, ensuring that AI models are developed to address problems of societal value."
