Lee Sweetlove is Senior Group Leader of Plant Cell-BasedProduction at EIT, leading a research team aiming to produce medicines and foodproducts sustainably and at scale in plant cells in culture, thereby uncouplingproduction from land use and climate.

Lee is also Professor of Plant Sciences at the Department ofBiology, University of Oxford and retains a role in the university as a SeniorResearch Fellow. His research focuses on the metabolic networks that underpinplant growth, productivity, and resilience, integrating systems biology,computational modelling, and experimental biochemistry to understand how plantsallocate and use carbon and energy.

He also provides advisory services for the agri-tech sectorand currently has a regular consultancy with MOA Technology, a herbicidediscovery company on the Oxford Science Park.
