Senior Director, Legal, Compliance & Commercial Projects

Keely Hibbitt

Keely Hibbitt is the Senior Director, Legal, Compliance & Commercial Projects for EIT.  In her role, Keely is responsible for all legal matters; providing pragmatic legal support to further the Institute’s mission of developing and deploying technology in pursuit of solving some of humanity’s most challenging and enduring problems.

Previously, Keely was Regional Head of Corporate Governance in the UK and Ireland for Olympus Corporation, a global organisation which creates medical systems to make people’s lives safer, healthier and more fulfilling.  Prior to this Keely was responsible for Group Legal and Compliance at Balfour Beatty plc, the UK’s largest construction company.

Keely is a qualified English lawyer.  She trained with international law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, qualifying into their Corporate Finance Department in 2003 and achieved partnership with them in 2011.

Outside of work, Keely enjoys spending time with her family, travel and socialising with friends.

Enterprise Operations are the shared services teams that support EIT science programmes. They consist of IT, Science Ops, Finance & Procurement, HR, Communications, Real Estate, Legal Commercial and Compliance. Partnering with colleagues across the Institute, they play a key role in putting in place the policies, systems, and best‑practice processes that supports a world‑class research and innovation organisation.
