Justin O’Grady is the Senior Director, Science Applications in the Pathogen Program at EIT. In his role, he will develop cutting edge technologies to diagnose and control infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, tackling the most important infectious syndromes and pathogens we face globally.
Justin currently holds an Honorary Professorship at the University of East Anglia and was previously Vice President, Translational Applications at Oxford Nanopore Technologies and Professor of Medical Microbiology at Quadram Institute Bioscience and University of East Anglia. He has a PhD from the University of Galway (Ireland) in Microbiology and has spent his career developing diagnostic technologies for infectious diseases in academia and industry.
Outside of work, Justin loves travelling with family, golf, the gym, football, his dog, Bear, and good food and drink.
