Mark is a machine learning researcher building foundation models, most recently for structured data. He completed an MSc in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Oxford, co-advised by Prof. Michael Bronstein (Oxford) and Prof. Jure Leskovec (Stanford), and is an ASEF Junior Research Fellow. He holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Ljubljana.

Much of his recent work focuses on tabular and relational data. As a Visiting Researcher at Stanford University in Prof. Leskovec's group, he co-authored the Relational Transformer, a foundation model for relational data accepted at ICLR 2026, alongside RelBench v2, a large-scale benchmark for relational data. He previously spent a year at Teads advancing real-time bidding and large-scale recommender systems. His work on multimodal embedding fusion earned a Rising Star Award at the IEEE ICDM conference.

Beyond research, Mark is a former professional basketball player who competed in Slovenia's top national league and in international competitions while still in high school. He is increasingly drawn to academic entrepreneurship, motivated by a desire to translate his research into work that improves the lives of as many people as possible.
