Megan is a Research Scientist in the AI & Robotics Institute at the EIT, where she works on foundational machine learning and its applications to the natural sciences. Megan is motivated to tackle hard problems by simultaneous development of methods and their application in new domains.
Previously, she was a researcher in the Microsoft Research AI for Science lab, where she co-created the Aurora atmospheric foundation model, and worked on chemically-accurate DFT, as well as ML for drug discovery in partnership with pharmaceutical companies.
Megan holds a PhD in physics from the University of Cambridge with a focus on quantum optics and solid state systems, and completed a postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience at UCSF. Megan is an advocate for women in STEM, and enjoys providing mentorship across academia and industry.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys the outdoors, both slowly and laboriously going up mountains, and going down them at speed on skis. The rest of the time she can be found curled up with her cat, or spending time with her family and friends.
