Dr. David Narganes-Carlon is a Data Scientist at EIT. He specialises in developing machine learning models for healthcare and medical science applications. His work focuses on three main areas: preventive and predictive health solutions, pathogen resistance monitoring, and clinical trials enhanced with artificial intelligence.
As Senior Data Scientist at Exscientia, David developed and deployed artificial intelligence models for target discovery and healthcare applications. His contributions included training Graph Attention Networks and language models for disease and systems biology modelling. At GeneDrive, he developed artificial intelligence models for COVID-19 detection during the pandemic. While at the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, he focused on post-operative outcome prediction and used causal statistics to analyse virus spread and obesity patterns through social.
David holds an industrial doctorate in Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology from the University of Dundee, conducted within Exscientia, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biotechnology from the University of Leon, Spain. His multidisciplinary background spans healthcare, biology, chemistry, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.
Outside of work, David applies artificial intelligence to create art, poetry, and stock market trading strategies. He speaks Spanish, English, and French fluently, while learning German and Chinese. He enjoys sports and travelling.
