This #NationalSTEMDay, we're taking the opportunity to highlight one of our many talented researchers who is pushing innovation forward in #STEM: Lexie Scholtz, who recently passed her PhD qualifying exam for Biomedical Engineering 🎉 Read below as Lexie reflects on her journey in #STEM and how she has grown as a researcher during her time as a Graduate Assistant at EIT.
We are thrilled to announce the @ellisoninstitute’s purchase of the historic Eagle and Child pub in Oxford. For over 300 years, this venue has played host to some of Oxford's greatest minds, including C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, members of the Inklings writers group, who regularly met on Tuesday mornings to discuss literature, philosophy and culture. Through the rebirth of the Eagle and Child — known as ‘the Bird and Baby’ — EIT plans to maintain its use as a public house and continue its legacy as a place for amazing people to come together. With design led by Norman Foster @fosterandpartners, the refurbished pub and the floors above will be a collaborative meeting space for our #EllisonScholars, EIT Oxford staff and @oxford_uni to come together to work on humanity's most challenging and enduring problems – all over a pint or two.
