The graduate Ellison scholarship fully funds DPhil (PhD) study at the University of Oxford. Graduate Ellison Scholars’ doctoral research will focus on an EIT project. Applicants must therefore demonstrate how well their research interests and choice of DPhil (PhD) course align with an ongoing EIT project.

Shortlisted graduate applicants interviewed by EIT Faculty Fellows
November 2024
Conditional scholarship awards are made
December 2024 – January 2025
Graduate finalists apply to the University of Oxford
March – April 2025
University of Oxford offers are made; Ellison Scholars are selected
October 2025
Ellison Scholars begin their studies at the University of Oxford
Applying to the University of Oxford
Graduate applicants with conditional scholarship awards will be invited to apply to the University of Oxford. The scholarship programme supports doctoral research within a DPhil (PhD) course that is centered on their chosen EIT project.
Please note that applications submitted to the University of Oxford will follow the University’s separate and independent admissions process.
Final Selection of Ellison Scholars
An offer of study at the University of Oxford will be the final step in the selection process. The final awards will be announced by April 2025, ahead of starting studies in Oxford in October 2025.
