Rifat Ahmmed Aoni, PhD

Dr. Rifat A. Aoni is a Postdoctoral Scholar, Chemical Engineering at the Ellison Institute of Technology. His work focuses on developing efficient optical system (developing optical biosensors, imaging system, etc.) for cancer detection.

Before joining the Institute, Dr. Rifat worked as a postdoctoral research scholar at the University of Southern California (USC), CA and RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia where he developed novel optical devices for biosensing applications (single to multiplex sensing), image processing, beam manipulation, hologram, and so on.

Dr. Rifat received his PhD in Electronics & Materials Engineering from the Australian National University (ANU), ACT, Australia in April 2022. He received his Master and Bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malaya, Malaysia and Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh, respectively. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, watching soccer, cricket, and sci-fi movies.
