Thomas Jonsson, PhD is a Senior Program Manager at the Ellison Institute of Technology Los Angeles, where he works directly with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Science and Innovation Officer (CSiO) to develop and establish an overarching research framework.

He is responsible for EIT’s efforts with external partners, including two research networks derived from the White House Cancer Moonshot: APOLLO (the Applied Proteogenomics Organizational Learning and Outcomes), and PROMETHEUS (PROject for Military Exposures and Toxin History Evaluation in U.S. Service Members). He works across internal research teams, including the AI and molecular analytics teams, to deliver on projects across their life cycle.

Dr. Jonsson received his BS in Chemistry from Lund University and his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. After completing post-doctoral studies, including a first-author Nature paper, he has been part of and led teams at health care companies including VectorBuilder and Metabolon. At Metabolon, he pioneered the interpretation of metabolomics to enable Pharmaceutical R&D, managed relationships with human health intelligence companies, and developed tests for precision medicine.
