Susie Barber

Susie Barber is the Communications Manager for the Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford.

Susie’s role is to develop and lead the communications strategy, media relations, marketing, and web and social media development for the new EIT Oxford campus and new Ellison Scholars programme. She seeks to optimise EIT’s current partnerships in the Oxford biotech and technology communities and expand collaborations with the University of Oxford.

Prior to joining the Ellison Institute of Technology, Susie worked at the University of Oxford as Communications and Public Engagement Manager for the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health. Here, she directed a wide range of marketing campaigns to promote their multi-disciplinary research on maternal and fetal health, reproductive medicine and genetics, cancer and global health, across various platforms, including websites, social media and podcast channels, women’s health symposiums and science fairs, to help inform and inspire the public. Susie has also previously worked in the non-for-profit sector in senior fundraising roles at charities, Oxfam, WaterAid and Comic Relief.

Susie graduated from Lancaster University with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Communication and Media. Outside of work, Susie is a mum of two and loves theatre, concerts and camping.
