Martin Bate

Data Protection Officer

Martin is the Privacy and Data protection officer of EIT. In his role he will oversee all data privacy and data protection activities, including web site notices, data subject rights, privacy by design and ensuring EIT  meets its GDPR requirements, ensuring that the data EIT processes is kept safe, secure and treated with the care it deserves.

He received a BEng in Electronic engineering at De Montfort University in Leicester and holds an IAPP certificate in Data protection management (CIPM).

Prior to joining EIT, he has had multiple roles. Such as Group DPO for Ingenico, head of compliance at Worldline UK and many different regulatory roles at Sun Microsystems, and Cisco, helping to build and manage compliance for international regulations.

Outside of work, Martin is married with two cats. He enjoys Music, and has a large collection of CDs and Records. He also writes about music and is a collector of vintage HiFi equipment.
