Mark Gibbons

IT Director

Mark Gibbons is the Director, Information Technology at EIT. Mark is responsible for the delivery of information systems and infrastructure that will enable the Oxford campus to deliver the Institute’s mission. Creating the IT function from the ground up, Mark is building a team that implement and run the enterprise systems, processes, and infrastructure needed to support the institutes diverse programmes and world class facilities.

Prior to working at EIT, Mark worked with MLL Telecom, a UK based secure connectivity partner serving local government and critical UK infrastructure entities. In this role, Mark was responsible for technology operations across the business. Prior to this, Mark has led IT infrastructure and systems teams across Europe and the Middle East within the luxury retail, consumer goods, and social housing sectors.

Alongside a career spanning over two decades in Information Technology, Mark obtained an MBA at Oxford Brookes University in 2018, having his final year dissertation published. Mark has continued to engage with the University through contributing as a guest speaker to the ‘Leading Digital’ module for current business students. Mark has previously supported budding entrepreneurs as a business mentor for the Princes’ Trust, and has also worked as a part time firefighter. Nowadays, Mark spends his spare time outdoors climbing, biking, and running around the countryside with his wife, son, and dog.
