Academic Partnerships Manager - Pathogena

Kimberly (Kim) Johnson is the Academic Partnerships Manager for EIT Pathogena at EIT, which aims to develop innovative technology with global collaboration in order to help reduce the millions of lives lost through ineffective treatment of infectious diseases. In her role she will be developing relationships with development partners in the academic, public health and commercial spaces to collaborate on bacterial species cataloguing to inform future genomic surveillance for anti-microbial resistance.

Kimberly has extensive experience in utilising genomic surveillance to combat infectious diseases, having previously worked as the Community Development Lead with MalariaGEN, a global network of collaborators dedicated to creating genetic resources for malaria control and elimination. Her diverse background includes roles at the University of Oxford's Jenner Institute, where she was a Project Manager for malaria vaccine development, and as a Senior Account Manager at Oxford PharmaGenesis, where she worked on the Open Pharma initiative with 16 pharmaceutical industry stakeholders collaborating to promote transparent communication of pharma-sponsored research.

Kimberly has an MSc in Global Public Health from King’s College London and a BSc in Biology with Genetics from the University of Leicester.
