Gillian Roberts is the Executive Assistant to Tamsin Berry, Chief of Staff at EIT and Diary Secretary to the President, Sir John Bell.
She is responsible for the professional management of the Chief of Staff's work with particular focus on calendar/diary planning, meeting and appointment arrangements, all general administration and as the first line of communication for all correspondence in connection with the Chief of Staff's work. Gillian also manages the diary of Sir John Bell.
Gillian spent the first 20 years of her career in the British Diplomatic Service working in Whitehall and Embassies overseas including Cape Town & Pretoria, Buenos Aires as Vice-Consul, Paris as Vice-Consul and Moscow as Private Secretary to the Ambassador. For 8 of the past 10 years Gillian has worked within the Medical Science Divisions of the University of Oxford in the Departments of Transplantation and Oncology and in Cardiovascular Research.
In her spare time Gillian and enjoys taking long walks with her husband and their beloved Patterdale Terrier Cross. She has also been proud to undertake climbs of Kilimanjaro in 2017 and Mount Toubkal (Atlas Mountains, Morocco) in 2023 raising significant amounts of money for her chosen charity in the process.
