Eileen Fung is a Principal Scientist (Tumor Microenvironment Research & Operations) at EIT. In her role, she is part of the collective efforts in enhancing the understanding of how the tumor microenvironment influences cancer progression and treatment responses.

Previously, Dr. Fung was part of UCLA Division of Thoracic Surgery, where she researched early lung tumorigenesis. She developed patient-derived organoids from surgically resected pulmonary nodules, which represented a spectrum of early lung adenocarcinoma as well as associated normal lung tissues. Dr. Fung earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at UCLA and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA’s Center of Iron Disorders.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, chauffeuring her kids to their various activities, and trying out new restaurants.
