Danny Hillis is an American inventor, entrepreneur, scientist, and writer who founded Thinking Machines, a pioneering manufacturer of parallel computers. He is currently a partner at Applied Invention, a Visiting Professor at MIT, Judge Widney Professor of Engineering and Medicine at USC, and co-founder of The Long Now Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
