Community Engagement Manager

Ami Hodges

Ami Hodges is the Community Engagement Manager for the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT), Oxford. She works closely with the EIT community and local partners to shape a joined-up, place-based approach to community engagement that delivers meaningful and lasting impact as EIT evolves. Her role is focused on helping shape EIT both as a community and within the wider community, with a clear sense of purpose - one that listens, convenes, and works alongside local people to understand what matters most, and that takes accountability for EIT’s presence and growth in Oxford. Ami will also support a growing and engaged EIT workforce to contribute positively in the local communities.

Prior to joining EIT, Ami actively pursued opportunities to drive progress in scientific research at several major funding organisations, most recently overseeing multiple MedTech Innovation Programmes at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). She has also worked at Cancer Research UK (CRUK), the Wellcome Trust, and the Medical Research Foundation (MRF), and served as a Medical Writer for the pharmaceutical industry.

Ami holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology and a Master of Research (MRes) in Cancer from Newcastle University. In her spare time, Ami is an avid sprint triathlete competing in Age Group competitions for Great Britain, with a passion for fitness and health. She also finds joy in hiking – preferably up big hills or mountains - or exploring the countryside through leisurely strolls with a coffee.
