Alessia Gasco

Marketing & Communications Manager, Pathogen Programme

Alessia Gasco is the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Pathogen Programme. In this role, she leads the development and execution of integrated marketing and communication strategies to enhance the Programme’s visibility and engagement. Alessia oversees the creation and dissemination of content, manages digital marketing initiatives, including website management and social media strategy, and coordinates the planning of key events. She ensures that all external communications align with the Programme’s identity, fostering consistent messaging across multiple platforms to drive awareness.

 Alessia has previously worked for the European Medicines Agency and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on multidisciplinary projects focused on nutrition, agriculture, and global health. Her roles included coordinating public outreach efforts, managing communications for scientific research, and supporting cross-sector collaborations to promote public health initiatives.

 Alessia holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Genoa and a Master’s degree in International Economics Law, Justice, and Development from Birkbeck, University of London.

Outside of work, Alessia enjoys bouldering at her local gym, practising yoga, and dancing Latin American dances. In autumn, her favourite activity is mushroom hunting in the forests of Italy.
